Maine Quality Counts and the Maine Regional Resource Center for Health Information Technology partner each month to bring Health Information Technology ‘Ask the Experts’ Roundtable Webinar Series sessions to providers across the state twice monthly, on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at noon.   Susan Thomas, MD, FAAP recently provided an excellent, practical ‘nuts and bolts’ overview of Meaningful Use, complete with step by step guidelines on how the meaningful use objectives align with a typical practice workflow, and detailed information on meeting each requirement.  Follow the link to Dr. Thomas’ presentation, Understanding and Navigating through Meaningful Use Measures 7-14-11

The American Association of Family Physicians’ Center for Health Information Technology Web site offers a variety of tutorials, on Electronic Health Record selection, implementation and use, ranging from the basics of sorting through hardware and software decisions to workflow redesign and chart migration.  The mission of the site is to promote and facilitate the adoption and optimal use of health information technology by AAFP members and other office-based clinicians, for the purposes of improving the quality and safety of medical care and increasing the efficiency of medical practice.  Check out their video module on Implementing Your Electronic Health Record
